# PKOS — Personal Knowledge Operating System

> PKOS is a long-term software architecture project designing a practical, maintainable system for organizing knowledge, information, projects, and ideas using a Core-only, Local-first approach.

The project is at its beginning and is being developed publicly. Architectural decisions, implementation work, and lessons learned will be shared as the project evolves. No products, downloads, or documentation exist yet.

Guiding principles: Core-only Obsidian, Local-first ownership of data, security before convenience, long-term maintainability, and simplicity over unnecessary complexity.
